Fatima Jayoma (she/her) joined the Sexual Violence Justice Institute at the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault in May 2020. As a Rural Project Coordinator, Fatima provides training and technical assistance to rural communities and state and territorial coalitions on systems responses and community collaboration approaches to responding to sexual violence. She is committed to working with rural communities to create victim/survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and collaborative responses to sexual violence.

Fatima has been involved in the anti-violence movement since 2015. Before joining SVJI at MNCASA, she served as a mobile multilingual advocate across Eastern Iowa, offering direct services and conducting community outreach and education in both Tagalog and English. Additionally, Fatima has experience as a community prevention educator. She holds a Master’s in Social Work and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social Work and Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies.

Outside of work, Fatima enjoys cooking, powerlifting, reading, and exploring the Twin Cities.
