Kenosha Alexander, an Alabama native, is a versatile leader with a wealth of experience in non-profit executive management and leadership. With 22 years of involvement in movements to end gender-based violence and 17 years of executive leadership, Alexander has made significant contributions to these important causes. Her expertise spans various areas, including Human Resources, Critical Thinking, Staff Management and Development, Program Development and Management, Strategic Planning, Board Governance, and Policy Development. Moreover, she has provided executive leadership coaching to nonprofit leaders and aspiring individuals seeking to make a difference.

 

Most recently, Alexander served as the Executive Director of the Sexual Violence Center, a community-based rape crisis center located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The center’s reach extends to Carver, Hennepin, and Scott Counties, where it provides essential support to those affected by sexual violence.

 

Demonstrating her commitment to community service, Alexander actively participates in several prominent roles. She served as the Board Chair for the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Violence Free Minnesota, and currently serves as the Board Chair for Shoulder to Shoulder. In 2023, she was appointed to the Minnesota Crime Victims’ Reimbursement Board, and in 2024, she was elected as the Board Chair. Other community service includes fostering dogs with Midwest Animal Rescue, EmpowerWork volunteer, UStrive mentor, and a volunteer with Elm Creek Elementary. Alexander strongly believes in continuous personal and professional growth as a lifelong learner. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in psychology and sociology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Furthermore, she earned a Master of Business Administration from Walden University, solidifying her comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics and effective leadership strategies. With her extensive experience, dedication to service, and passion for empowering others, Kenosha Alexander is a catalyst for positive change in the non-profit sector.
