Helping Victims/Survivors Connect with Resources

What does it take to make a referral that works for a victim/survivor? Join fellow advocates for a facilitated discussion about moving beyond handing someone a name and phone number. We’ll explore how to learn about community partners, explain what we know about their services, and offer a warm handoff when the victim/survivor wants one.

We’ll focus on what the process feels like for the person receiving the referral. How will they get there? What can they expect when they call or arrive? Is the service a good fit for them, including immigrant and trans survivors? We’ll also discuss ways to learn more about the organizations we refer to, from building ongoing relationships to visiting a location or taking the bus route ourselves.
