Weigh In Wednesday: Why Did You Choose a SART?

It’s the first Wednesday of the month, which means it’s weigh-in time! Many communities and service providers talk with me about what prompted them to want to start a Sexual Assault Response Team. Sometimes, it was single case, a long time coming, a new law mandating a team, or agencies realized there was opportunities to collaborate to provide better services to sexual violence victim/survivors. There are so many origin stories for SARTs! Others can learn from sharing stories about what can prompt a community and service providers to do better by victim/survivors.
